English Ashes Team | The Ashes Test
The English Ashes team contained few surprises: The team captain is Andrew Strauss who at 32 is considered by many to be the perfect choice of captain to take on the Aussies. He plays his cricket for Middlesex he has played in 62 test matches and against the aussies he has played 10 test and scored 640 runs. Kevin Pietersen who plays for Hampshire at 29 years is considered to be in his prime he has great test experience having played in 52 test once again he's played in 10 against the aussies and made 963 runs.. Alastair Cook at 24 is one of the younger team members an opening batsman with lots of promise Alastair plays for Essex he has played 5 test against the Aussies and scored 276 runs. Paul Collingwood a 33 year old who plays for Durham Paul has played in 48 test of which 6 were against the aussies and he has scored 450 runs against them. Matt Prior a wicket keeper who plays for Sussex. Ian Bell 27 year old Middle order batsman who plays for Warwickshire competed in 46 test matches 10 against the aussies and has scored 502 runs against them.

Bowlers: Stuart Broad one of our youngest players at just 23 turns out for Nottinghamshire a fast bowler of note he's taken 46 test wickets. Graeme Swann a 30 year old offspinner who also plays for Nottinghamshire played in 7 test and has taken 34 wickets. James Anderson a 26 year old fast bowler plays for Lancashire he has turned out for 37 test with 128 wickets to his credit. Monty Panesar another player who needs no introduction a 27 year spin bowler who plays for Northamptonshire he has played in 38 test.
